A MILLION TO ONE SHOT

From the beginning . . .  While reading through Total Rocky.com about a month ago, I noticed an ad to be in Rocky VI through beinamovie.com.  I immediately signed up and asked my cousin to come with me. She accepted. I stayed at the Mandalay Bay Hotel for three nights - the 4th the 5th and the 6th. I was on set Monday and Tuesday (December 5th and 6th, not the 7th). On Tuesday I sat ringside at Tarver's corner and was very lucky as there weren't half as many people there as there turned out to be the following day. I did not bring a camera or pen because as you know we weren't allowed.

I first saw Frank Stallone.  I recognised him straight away.  They look alike!  Then I saw Burt Young and Tony Burton and finally Sly Stallone.  I couldn't believe it!  We were feet away - I could hear everything he said.  It was brilliant.

Lunch time came at 2:00 o'clock so I went back to my hotel room for a break.  It was then that I decided to bring the camera and a pen because in life you never know and I had prayed that I would be able to meet him,  So I put the camera in my pocket and went back to the arena.

At 4:20, they started filming again. Sly jumped from the ring, went towards the TV screens and for a split second was alone, so a guy ran up to him and said, "Can I have your autograph?"  "Sure," he said, so I then said, "Sly, can I have your autograph, please?  I have come all the way from England on a 12-hour flight!"  He looked at me and said, "YOU COME ALL THIS WAY AND YOU DON'T BRING A CAMERA?" I replied, "I did bring one!", remembering that it was in my pocket. He then said, "WELL, LET'S  DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT THEN!" He pulled me towards him and I froze up, being so nervous. One of his assistants took the picture.

I walked away and said to myself, "Thank you, God." I sat back down, looked to my right and there was Tony Burton right next to me.  So I said, "Can I have your autograph?" He said yes and signed it 'To Robert - God Bless, Tony Burton'.

I was so happy. It was the greatest day of my life so far. The whole thing was a million to one shot.
