OSCAR NOMINATION ADS

Printed in entertainment trade magazines such as Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, these full-page advertisements featured Rocky's cast and were intended to gather support to gain Academy Award nominations.

These particular 1977 ads promote Talia Shire for Best Actress and Sylvester Stallone for Best Actor.  Both stars eventually did receive well-deserved Oscar nods but they each lost to the leads in Network (1976).
